Suzanna is a Canadian student currently based in the UK. She is passionate about data-driven initiatives for social impact, particularly about disability rights and education equity.

She has led and participated in data-related projects as a UN Academic Impact-associated Millennium Fellow and with non-profit organisations like Disabled Students UK.

She is also proud to be involved in building and expanding a community of data visualisation enthusiasts as the President of the Data Visualisation Society at University College London (UCL).

Valerie Compaore

Nonprofit Outreach Lead

Valerie works as a Business Intelligence Analyst in the financial industry, based in Toronto, Canada. She began her journey as a volunteer during her first year of university in Africa. After moving to the US, she decided to minor in Nonprofit Management, which led to her becoming a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. She completed her internship at the American Red Cross and has since volunteered with various organizations.

Valerie joined Fred Victor as a volunteer and is currently part of the fundraising committee. She is also involved in membership advocacy at BUiLT, contributing her expertise in data analysis and visualization to these causes.

Dennis Kao
VFSG Ambassador

By day, Dennis is a social work professor at Carleton University - located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - where he conducts health equity research and teaches courses on community practice, nonprofit management, and research/statistics. By night, he is an aspiring data visualization and map designer.

With over a decade of experience in statistical analysis and GIS mapping, he first discovered Tableau in November 2020. Engaging with the #DataFam and participating in the various community projects, such as Viz for Social Good, has invigorated his passion for working with data.

Kevin Elder

Doc Elder is a Research Professor of Analytics and Cyber Security. He has been on the VFSG Board since 2018.

He has brought countless students to the practice of using their Data Skills for social good. As a Tableau Academic Ambassador he loves to bring Academia and Industry together.

Nicole Klassen
VFSG Ambassador

Nicole is a Data Viz Developer at Abt Associates. Her background is in psychology and prior to working in analytics she worked at a community in-patient children’s psychiatric hospital.

Her vizzes tend to focus on mental health, equity, and participating in Viz for Social Good.

She loves rock climbing, spending time with her family, and Doctor Who!

Thi Ho
VFSG Ambassador

Thi works as a data & digital product owner based in Singapore. She was a Tableau Public Featured Author in 2020 and is a four-time Tableau Ambassador (2020 to present). Thi joined Viz For Social Good as a volunteer in 2020, and since then have been Singapore Local Chapter Leader, APAC Regional Leader, and currently Ambassador of this amazing community.

Thi finds that VFSG is purpose driven and loves to contribute more and get more people to know about how they can do good with their data skills! Thi has been leading initiatives in the #DataFam community and at work to advocate for data literacy and data democratization and build data capabilities.

Satoshi participated in viz for social good projects in 2018 for the first time and have been keeping involved in since then.

So far, he has submitted for 27 projects. The reason why he loves viz for social good is that, viz for social good projects give himhuge learning of quite wide range, for example data visualization, storytelling, social problems and so on.
